An ongoing war between two US animal rights groups - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and Friends of Animals (FOA) culminated in a bizarre showdown last year that saw each group outside a KFC restaurant with PETA lauding the chain for including substitute chicken on its menu while FOA protested against both PETA and KFC.
Hostilities between the groups stretch back over several years with the latest installment involving PETA suing FOA in an attempt to close down their rehabilitation house for non-native animals. Allow me to point out here that both animal rights organizations are using donated money to fight each other. This money was supposed to go towards helping animals. (or so I thought)
A 2006 courtroom drama between People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and fellow animal rights group Friends of Animals (FOA) and its subsidiary Primarily Primates unfolded into a ridiculous farce that saw a bunch of PETA funded chimpanzees attempt to sue FOA for alleged animal abuse. Oh my god-now we have the monkeys suing Friends of Animals.
The batty legal proceedings were first instigated in 2006 and named nine chimpanzees as the plaintiffs. PETA funded the 'plaintiffs' and alleged they had been abused.
I am getting a headache now.
